The primary purpose of Advertising Illustration is to draw attention to a product or service. However, this is not to say that medical or scientific advertising images are devoid of meaningful content, but rather that the informational content is subordinate to the visual aesthetics. The art should be physically attractive and interesting as this is a subliminal comment on the "quality" of the company. This area of illustration often allows for a wide range of creativity and imagination on the part of the artist, and thus is as fun to create as it is (hopefully) to look at.
